Lost Soldiers

This coin is a continuation of the Mint’s Australia Remembers series, which explores nation’s war experiences and military history behind and beyond the battlefields. In 2009, the first coin in the series honoured Australian Service Nurses.

The coin design is based on the Cobbers statue which stands in the Australian War Memorial Park in Fromelles and was designed in consultation with the Australian Fromelles Project Group and the Office of Australian War Graves.

Burke and Wills

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Burke and Wills expedition, the Royal Australian Mint unveiled new coin designs alongside an exclusive Burke and Wills display at the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne. Read more »
