It is believed that only two of the five proof strikings of this coin are in private hands. Melbourne dealer, Downies offered one of these for sale in June, 1996 at $6,950. The coin was previously a part of the John Ahbe collection, a high profile New York collector. The collection was dispersed in the mid-1970's.
