This coin is highly sought by collectors. It was produced when Melbourne mint officials decided to re-engrave unused dies from 1933. As with the 1922/1 threepence, the mint denied that this occurred, probably in an attempt to cover up a poor engraving job. The 1934/3 overdate threepence is found in far greater numbers than its 1922/1 predecessor.
