Rare and Limited 2005 Gold Set

The Royal Australian Mint released 24 carat gold coins to create a limited edition 2006 Six Coin Gold Proof Set with designs to commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War on the 20 cents, 50 cents and 1 dollar.
Royal Australian Mint designers Wojciech Pietranik and Vladimir Gottwald have created three beautiful and fitting designs from images originating from the Second World War. Not since Australia's Centenary of Federation in 2001 has the Mint produced a gold set such as this.
This is a reflection of the importance of the end of the war to Australian history.

Representing peace, coming home and remembrance the images on these coins were designed in consultation with the Australian War Memorial using photographs from their collection. 1 cent and 2 cents coins weren't included in this set.
20 cents

The twenty cent coin, Coming Home was inspired by an 1945 photograph of an Australian soldier, an ex-prisoner of war, returning home and seeing family after many years apart. 1 dollar 2005 - End of WWII »
Housed in a She-Oak and Jarrah presentation box, only 650 sets were made and priced at $3,700.
These coins are very rare and rarely found for sale, either in set or individually.
