Christopher Ian Higgins

Between 1975 and 1989, Higgins was a senior executive officer in the Department of the Treasury, including as a deputy secretary from 1984. He was appointed Secretary of the department in September 1989. Higgins died in Bruce, Australian Capital Territory from heart failure on 6 December 1990, aged 47, having just won a 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) footrace.
